High-altitude coffee has a unique flavoring profile, and with proper care, its acidity, aroma, and flavor can be more pronounced. In comparison, low-altitude coffee tends to have lower acidity and less distinct characteristics. In general, high-altitude coffee is considered to have better taste, with coffee grown above 1730 meters in altitude being a prime example of having particularly outstanding flavor.
The majority of specialty coffee beans in the market are Arabica, which is more adapted to high-altitude cold climates, typically at altitudes of around 550-1920 meters. In contrast, Robusta, which grows at lower altitudes of around 180-730 meters, thrives in warmer climates.
